As a bonus lesson, we also learn about buying a property at auction- the mechanics of doing so and the risks associated with mortgage lending for this type of purchase.
Ready?
This is where we get some technical knowledge and disclose the process you should follow, the questions you should ask and the tools you need to research the market and select the right product.
Quite simply, it is time to be the broker.
These lessons are going to help short-cut any conversations you have directly with mortgage lenders. If you plan on approaching a lender directly, you may need to find out the answers to certain questions early on in the process so as to avoid getting too far into the process before finding out they are unable to help.
These are questions that, as brokers, we know the answer to but may not be ones that immediately spring to mind for you.
I have also included some situations where people go wrong and are best avoided.
So get ready for a knowledge dump.
Hi there 👋
My name is Graham and I am the Managing Director of Hudson Rose.
I have been a professional mortgage adviser in the UK for nearly 20 years.
In that time, I have arranged hundreds of £millions in mortgages for everyone ranging from first-time buyers to high net-worth individuals.
Quite simply, I have been around a bit and have an insider's knowledge of the mortgage market.
In a world full of misinformation and rumour, I wanted to provide the definitive guide on the mortgage process in the UK and help others understand something that is often confusing, scary and overwhelming.
So, I hope you find it both useful and interesting.
